The design consultants are freelance employees. They are representatives PLUM Design and as such, bring the professionalism, experience and design aesthetic the company has become known for.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Meeting with clients for in-house consultations
  • Providing clients with fully realized design solutions including: interactive floor plans with proposed furniture placements, furniture and accessory selections, colour and fabric samples
  • Providing client feedback to the team
  • Attending all training sessions

Skills required:

  • Graduate from an accredited Interior Design Program
  • 3-5 years experience in residential design firm or furniture retail
  • Ability to solve design problems quickly and implement solutions immediately
  • Professional and presentable by phone and in person Interacts well with others – positive and outgoing
  • Working Knowledge of AUTO Cad
  • Computer Literate


The administrative assistant/office manager will work full-time in the PLUM Design office managing the day-to-day operations of the office and overseeing the scheduling of consultations and furniture orders.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling consultations
  • Book with design consultant and provide them with all the information necessary including client profile, directions, samples, measurements
  • Processing furniture orders
  • Scheduling furniture deliveries
  • Ensure Office runs smoothly and has necessary supplies
  • General Office Duties including:
    • Answering telephone calls
    • Email correspondence with new prospective clients
  • Coordinating Staff Training Sessions
  • Managing online promotions and marketing initiatives

Skills required:

  • Previous experience working in a Design office environment is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organized, detail oriented
  • Experience processing orders, accounting and administration
  • Excellent problem solving skills
